Dear Matteo Renzi (Italian PM).

I’m David. Michelangelo sculpted me as you can see me in this photo, completely naked, with my “pisello” dangling out. It has been over 500 years since that 1504 when the master of Italian sculpture decided that he wanted to do a statue of me. Here is how VASARI described the statue ““When all was finished, it cannot be denied that this work has carried off the palm from all other statues, modern or ancient, Greek or Latin; no other artwork is equal to it in any respect, with such just proportion, beauty and excellence did Michelagnolo finish it”.   (http://www.vocfm.co.za/italy-covers-museum-nudes-for-iranian-president/)

Like many other famous painting and  artistic masterpieces in Italy I am naked. 

Yesterday a major blow was given to all free people who believe in art as a form of expression of our human nature. You sold your soul and your ass to a chief of State (Rouhani president of Iran) who was visiting the Country of Michelangelo, leonardo, Botticelli, Giotto, Galileo, Tiziano, Caravaggio, Bernini and many many other Masters who spent their lives making this Country the most beautiful and the richest in Art that any other Country in the world.
By hiding two sculptures behind panels “so that the sensibility of your guest will not be offended” represents the most barbaric act that was perpetrated in our Country since the sack of the Lanzichenecchi (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sack_of_Rome_(1527)) in 1527.

How could you perform such an horrifying act and get away with it? Are you the beholder of  what is good or bad? Are you just a merchant ready to give his butt away because this guy has promised to spend a few Billion ou?  What are you mr Renzi? If your role is that to represent your people, well I do not recognize myself as “your people”.

What you did as a tremendous impact in every free mind and soul. I feel my heart bleeding because if Rouhani had come to Florence you’d probably covered me as well as if you were ashamed of me as if  I was a “child old a minor god”

When you’ll go to Iran in a few months, tell mr. Rouhani that what you did, in order to kiss is ass, will have an impact of the way Italians relate to muslims because every time a muslim come to visit us we tend on hiding our masterpieces. Artists and free mind are very concerned about your behaviour.

Are you going nuts? What are you doing to BEAUTY? It is about the  sensibility of Italians, free Italians, those who did not vote for you and never will because if these are the directories that you are giving to your gang, you might as well get out of this Country because YOU DON’T BELONG here.


I’m finishing this letter by telling you that I would have never thought that something like this would ever happen. I am sad, really sad for what you did, and by joining virtually all the statues, paintings and artworks penalized by what you did, I raise my medium finger to you hoping that you may reconsider your actions and at least have the balls to come in public and excuse yourself for what you did, even if is not going to change a bit about the way I feel about you mr Renzi: You can KISS MY NAKED ASS.
